PROJECT WALL-E eBlog Updated on Thursday May 06, 2010
Wall-E will be using 2 battery packs - 12 volt in AAs and an alternate 9 V pack. The packs will be connected directly to the Reciever. As tested, the locomotive motor works perfectly fine with the 12 V battery pack. The receiver and transmitter kit will be of either VexRobotics or Indian Hobbies 6 channel controller. The VexRobotics is a simple to use transmitter and receiver kit and can be ordered from US for a total of $39.99. The Indian hobbies' 6 channel radio control set can be ordered or picked up from Indian Hobbies flying clup shop in Pune at Rs. 13,800. The one from Indian hobbies will be having an LCD screen which can be used to understand radio controlling better. We have still not ordered any Set and might even be thinking of getting a PC wifi Controller and a wifi cam for it. Rather than spending $320 on a wifi cam, we'd probably be using mobiola mobline wireless webcam controller. Mobiola is a software downloadable from www.download.com.
